Herningsholm School

The new Herningsholm School in Herning is designed based on the concepts of Learning, Well-being, and Community, which forms the cornerstones of the educational principles and vision of the school.

The aim of the school is to create a natural and sustainable learning environment that prioritizes health, outdoor activities, movement, as well as sensory, play-based, and nature-focused learning.

The site will also offer facilities for after-school programs, special education, dental care, sports facilities, as well as outdoor spaces for learning, leisure, and play. Considering all these functions, the school is designed as a diverse and animated space, that can serve as a central gathering point for the area. A place where theater performances, concerts, lectures, communal meals, and sports activities can be held, all of which supports the unique spirit of Herningsholm. A place that is accessible to everyone, where people of all ages and genders can meet and learn about life, nature, and its diversity. A community school - for everyone!

The new school will have a floor area of approximately 10.100 m² and will be able to accommodate up to 3 cohorts per grade.
